Key Benefits
Non-toxic natural wax
Protects your stone from stains and liquids
Marble is a delicate material which is sensitive and needs regular care. As you most likely already know, certain liquids are not in favour of your marble piece. The worst ones are citric acids found in lemon, lime and oranges but also wine, and carbonated drinks can make horrible marks.
Act of Caring has developed this simple routine to help you clean and care for your marble piece.
1. Use our Restoring Marble Cleanser on a daily basis. Spray directly on the surface and wipe with a damp cloth. Let dry. The cleanser contains soap with a high PH value (+7) and contain no harmful chemicals.
2. Take the damp sponge and apply our Protecting Marble Wax in circles over the whole piece. Once covered with wax, wipe o the access wax and polish with a clean dry soft cloth. You can use our Mixed-linen Cloth, or any soft linen or cotton cloth you might have available.
The wax contains only natural ingredients and will preserve your piece and make it more resistant to stains. The wax seals/zips the pores of the stone and leave a protective film. The scent of forest will spread in the room and enhance the moment. You still need to be careful with those harmful liquids and never cut your citrus fruits directly on your marble or fine stone. Always try the wax on a small area before applying to the whole piece using our wax on a biweekly basis.
C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate*, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil (Sunflower oil), Brassica Campestris Seed Oil (Rapeseed oil), Copernicia Cerifera Cera (Canuba wax), Myrica Cerifera Fruit Wax, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Leaf Oil, Pinus Nigra Twig Leaf Oil, Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea tree) Leaf Oil, Limonene.

Onyx is food safe and does not emit any toxins however please take care of staining from red wine and so on. We recommend hand washing all onyx pieces using an acid-free detergent.
Please use an acid-free marble cleaner for the chess sets.
As Travertine & Marble are natural stones, each piece will vary slightly in colour and finish and may contain markings, small holes, pits, and fissures all of which are natural characteristics of the stone. Because our Marble and Travertine isn’t manufactured, it is impossible to the stone or to exactly match one piece to another as no two stones are the same. It is stones inherent natural beauty that makes each piece and each of our Atelier278 designs so special.
Marble and Travertine are both naturally porous stones. Whilst care should be taken to ensure the longevity of your Atelier278 modern collectable, it has been crafted to be used and enjoyed. To maintain the beauty of your new piece for as long as possible we would recommend using placemats and coasters for cups, plates, and dishes to avoid water rings and heat marks.
Scratches and stains are inevitable, but care should be taken to mop up any liquid and food spillages as soon as possible. Oils such as candle wax and acidic liquids such as vinegar, wine and lemon juice can be especially damaging but fear not, overtime any marks will age gracefully adding to your pieces unique character and charm. To clean, wipe the surface with a soft damp cloth and follow with a little warm water or a non-abrasive light neutral detergent before wiping dry with a lint-free cloth. Applying a natural marble wax across the entire surface of your piece can add a little extra protection. Extra caution should be taken to avoid using coarse cleaning materials such as scouring pads and acidic or abrasive cleaners.
We recommend re-sealing your table every 6-12 months using Lithofin Stain Stop. Atelier278 Ltd is not liable for any damage caused by mistreatment.
