As Travertine and Marble are natural stones, each piece will vary slightly in colour and finish and may contain markings, small holes, pits, and fissures all of which are natural characteristics of the stone. Because our Marble and Travertine isn’t manufactured, it is impossible to the stone or to exactly match one piece to another as no two stones are the same. It is stones inherent natural beauty that makes each piece and each of our Atelier278 designs so special.
Marble and Travertine are both naturally porous stones. Whilst care should be taken to ensure the longevity or your Atelier278 modern collectable, it has been crafted to be used and enjoyed. To maintain the beauty of your new piece for as long as possible we would recommend using placemats and coasters for cups, plates, and dishes to avoid water rings and heat marks.
Scratches and stains are inevitable, but care should be taken to mop up any liquid and food spillages as soon as possible. Oils such as candle wax and acidic liquids such as vinegar, wine and lemon juice can be especially damaging but fear not, overtime any marks will age gracefully adding to your pieces unique character and charm. To clean, wipe the surface with a soft damp cloth and follow with a little warm water or a non-abrasive light neutral detergent before wiping dry with a lint-free cloth. Applying a natural marble wax across the entire surface of your piece can add a little extra protection. Extra caution should be takenoid using coarse cleaning materials such as scouring pads and acidic or abrasive cleaners. We recommend re-sealing your table every 6-12 months using Lithofin Stain Stop. Atelier278Ltd is not liable for any damage caused by mistreatment.

Deliveries of our Made to Order, Bespoke and Vintage items are conducted by white glove couriers who are specialists in moving delicate, high value pieces. To keep delivery costs down and reduce our carbon footprint, we group our deliveries together and these take place approximately every 10-14 days. This option does not allow for a nominated day delivery.
Production lead times are an approximation and may be subject to change due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and Brexit. Additionally, our Marble and Travertine tables are made by hand which requires the stone to dry naturally in between processes.
